Using POGIL in the Chemistry Classroom: Objectives, Practices, and Outcomes Mark as Favorite (0 Favorites)

POGIL activities can be used to engage students in chemistry lessons through the use of student teams, effective models and tiered questioning. In this webinar, the goals and objectives of POGIL activities will be explained and clarified. Two trained POGIL facilitators will provide facilitation strategies and best practices to guide both new and seasoned teachers in utilizing POGIL activities. The structure of POGIL activities will be examined to provide teachers with guidance on fostering student buy in, student role formation, and POGIL implementation. Additionally, information will be shared on how to assess students' participation in POGIL activities holistically or through individual examination of process skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem solving.
