Help Us Plan our 2020 AP Chemistry Review Webinar

Your students work hard all year to master the concepts of AP Chemistry. They will slog through numerous problems, take many exams, and complete laboratory work. Yet, many have trouble “putting it all together” when AP exam time comes. How can we best help them “show what they know”? Join Paul Price and Michael Farabaugh for our “Helping Students Show What They Know – An AP Chemistry Review Webinar” presentation scheduled for Wednesday, March 4^, 2020 at 7:00 – 8:00 pm ET!

Paul and Farabaugh would like your input to help them create one long and one short mock FRQ that you can administer to your students in advance of the webinar! Please let them know what Units and Subtopics you would like to have included by completing this survey before midnight on Thursday, December 19^th.

During the presentation, Paul and Michael will examine actual student responses to the mock questions. The answers to these questions will be enlightening, as they will allow us to glean insights on how students attack both conceptual and quantitative questions. Specifically, we hope to see misconceptions that students often carry with them even after excellent instruction, as well as both strong and weak versions of correct responses. By identifying “red flags” now, AP teachers will still have time in their reviews to remove misconceptions and promote clear responses from their students when May finally arrives. Paul and Michael will also provide suggestions on how to review those particularly thorny concepts for both teachers and students.
