Join AACT, U.S Office of Fusion researchers, and Katy Dornbos, an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow serving in the U.S. Dept of Energy Fusion Energy Sciences from 2026-2027, for a conversation about the breadth and depth of research bringing the power of the Sun to Earth. Fusion energy has grown from $0 to $14 billion+ in the last ten years. Teachers will learn about recent advances in research, materials chemistry, and the basics of fusion energy. Resources for incorporating fusion lessons into your chemistry classroom will be provided.
Presenters:
-Katy Dornbos, Chemistry Teacher and Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow, U.S. Office of Fusion Energy
-Dr. Arezoo Zare, Materials Sciences and Engineering, Washington State University
-Dr. Daniel Casey, High Energy Density Physicist, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
