In this webinar, Shannon Morey and Emily Berman will review a unit project in which students learn about heat and temperature through the lens of urban heat islands and red lining. They will also discuss a general framework that was developed from this unit to support teachers in designing curriculum that connects societal issues relevant to students’ lives to core science and math content. The Knowles Teacher Initiative’s Engineering for Equitable Teaching Framework can enhance learning experiences for students while building engineering, critical thinking, and empathy skills.
