This webinar provides an overview of the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC) program, including the application process and key requirements, before grounding participants in the framework of global competencies. It then highlights a comparative case study of a periodic table lesson implemented in North Carolina and then during the Fulbright field experience in Senegal, West Africa, illustrating how chemistry instruction can be leveraged to build global awareness and cross-cultural understanding. Participants will explore the connections between these teaching contexts and examine how global competencies can be authentically integrated into science curriculum. The session will also showcase practical classroom resources from the American Association of Chemistry Teachers (AACT), equipping educators with tools and ideas to bring globally focused, standards-aligned lessons into their own classrooms.
