Are you looking to get more involved with AACT next year? We have two volunteer opportunities where you can make an impact!
We're seeking one elementary school teacher and one middle school teacher to join the Nominating & Awards Committee.
Nominating & Awards Committee Member
Duties:
- Review and evaluate potential candidates for elected positions on the AACT Governing Board
- Develop and define AACT awards
- Select winners of the AACT Chemistry Teacher of the Year Award at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels
- Help administer the ChemLuminary Award for AACT Support
Approximate Time Commitment: 2 hours per month
Service Term: 2 years
We're also looking for regional representatives who want to represent AACT in their area!
Regional Representative
Duties:
- Communicate information about AACT to teachers in his/her area (state)
- Contribute information from his/her area for dissemination by AACT
- Liaise with ACS Local Sections
- Generally promote AACT and the benefits of AACT membership
Encouraged:
- to organize (virtual) local events and presentations that incorporate AACT resources
Approximate Time Commitment: 2 hours per month
Service Term: 1 year
