8:00 – 8:55 AM: ACS K-5 Classroom Activities from Inquiry in Action (WSC 321) - Free online lesson plans of hands-on activities and animations help your elementary students build foundational concepts in chemistry from inquiryinaction.org. 9:10 – 10:05 AM: Win the Grant Writing Game: Grant Writing Strategies for You and Your Chemistry Students (BE 100) - Learn the key strategies to writing a fundable proposal and the available ACS grant opportunities for high school chemistry teachers and students.

9:45 – 11:15 AM: Elementary & Middle School Chemistry: Demonstrations and Lab Activities on a Shoestring Budget (WSC 321) - Join us as we show engaging demonstrations, labs, and activities that will help elementary and middle school teachers teach chemistry topics.

12:45 – 1:15 PM: Marvelous Metals & ACS ChemClubs (WSC 156) - Get ready for the 2019 National Chemistry Week by exploring the theme “Marvelous Metals” while learning about the free ACS ChemClub program.

2:00 – 3:30 PM: Building a Periodic Table Unit Plan Using American Association of Chemistry Teachers (AACT) Resources (WSC 54) - Join us as we show you how to put together a successful unit plan using the wide variety of classroom resources available on AACT’s website.

8:00 – 9:30 AM: Modeling Energy in Chemistry (WSC 356) - Equip teachers with curriculum, developed by AACT members, and instructional practices to help students develop a particle-level model of energy.

9:10 – 10:05 AM: Advancing Science Literacy (BE 100) - Are you asked to incorporate reading and writing into your lessons to support literacy in language arts? We have the right teaching strategies for you! Come learn how to use ChemMatters magazine, an AACT member benefit, in your chemistry classroom.

9:45 – 11:15 AM: ACS High School Session Two: Relating Structure and Properties: Constructing Science Ideas about Ionic Bond Strength – Solubility and Melting Point (WSC 256) - Experience strategies for engaging students in analyzing and interpreting data to discover the structural factors that affect the solubility and melting point of ionic compounds.

10:20 – 11:15 AM: Teacher’s Toolbox for Lab Safety (WSC 356) – Join us as we explore ACS and AACT lab safety resources and how to use them in your classroom.

2:40 – 4:10 PM: ACS High School Session Three: Interparticle Forces in Covalent Compounds—Melting Point, Viscosity, and Vapor Pressure (WSC 256) - Experience strategies for engaging students in analyzing and interpreting data to discover the structural factors that affect melting point and other properties of covalent compounds.
