In this session, Mary Howard, a current ELA and science teacher, will talk about using ChatGPT in the classroom. Participants will learn exactly what ChatGPT is, how to access it and how to use it to help assist with instructional tasks in the classroom. In the session we will share an abundance of use cases for classrooms in any grade level and content area. We will also evaluate extended uses of the tool and other AI resources. Finally, we'll discuss ethical use and academic integrity surrounding AI in general. At the conclusion of the session, participants will know and understand what ChatGPT is, plus its limitations and the biases. Participants will be able to develop effective prompting strategies to retrieve quality information and participants will be able to analyze, edit, and adapt information that is retrieved for use in the classroom.
