Self-E's - Chemistry, Photography, and the [Digital] Communication of Science-based Identities Mark as Favorite (0 Favorites)

WEBINAR (41 minutes) recorded November 08, 2022

Michael Nocella will be addressing us and explaining how he helps students find their identity as a scientist using photography. Integral to effectively communicating science are the ways in which we recognize ourselves as scientists as well as how others recognize us as scientists. In this webinar, the confluence between chemistry, photography, and science-based identities will be highlighted through the use of cyanotype photography within a chemistry classroom. By prompting students to evaluate the ways in which their self-expression relates to their science-based identities, it is hoped that they will also become more aware of the ways in which they specifically connect with science in order to become better communicators of science and recognized as such too.

Presenter: Michael K. Nocella, High School Teacher, Adlai E. Stevenson High School

Date: Tuesday, November 8 at 7:00 PM Eastern
