Chemistry is sometimes difficult to connect to students' lives. During COVID, I was forced to teach out of my kitchen, bathroom, and garage for virtual lessons. This gave me the opportunity to develop lessons that had a direct connection to student experiences. Join Patricia DeCoster, a retired chemistry teacher and professor at Sacred Heart University, to discuss ways to develop these types of lessons that use NGSS phenomena from your house and school to create essential questions that help students understand the importance of chemistry in their daily lives.
