Integrating Virtual Labs into the AP/IB Chemistry Curriculum Mark as Favorite (0 Favorites)

WEBINAR (50 minutes) recorded December 06, 2017

Virtual chemistry labs can not only help teachers meet specific learning targets in the AP and IB chemistry curriculum, but they also enable students to take an investigative and experimental approach to learning chemistry. Virtual labs can bring textbook concepts to life as students run "what if" experiments on their laptops. The typical learning pathway consists of virtual experimentation, data collection, and data analysis. Teachers can easily add assessments to virtual lab exercises using tools such as Google Forms. We will demonstrate all this using ChemReaX, a web-based chemical reaction simulation app, and present sample simulation exercises in topics such as chemical equilibrium, reaction kinetics and acid-base titration.
