AACT Holiday Professional Development Watch List
By AACT on November 24, 2020
We hosted our last webinar of 2020 on November 19th and are on a “holiday hiatus” until January 13, 2021. However, as a holiday treat, we are unlocking the following presentations through December 24th!
- Virtual Summer Symposium: Simulations to Enhance Chemical Instruction – This symposium, organized by Kristen Drury, includes nine chemistry educators highlighting their favorite simulations.
- Virtual Summer Symposium: At-Home Activities and Resources for Teaching Chemistry Online – This symposium, organized by Deanna Cullen, includes 11 chemistry educators who talk about their go to “at-home” activities and resources for teaching online.
- Using ChemCollective and the Online Learning Initiative to Simulate Laboratory Experiments - Jeanette Stewart introduces the ChemCollective - Online Learning Initiative Collaboration and demonstrates how to use the platform to simulate common high school labs.
- The Kitchen Chemist – Jonte’ Lee conducts simple, do-it-yourself at-home chemistry experiments that will enhance your distance learning chemistry lessons and make chemistry more engaging and student friendly.
In addition to these four, we held seven other symposia this summer and nine other webinars this fall. AACT members can view these, and any of the other webinars in our archive at any time. All include a link that will allow you to generate a certificate of attendance after viewing.
We hope that these professional development resources will help you prepare lessons for your students, whether they are learning in class, hybrid, or virtually. All of these lessons were made possible by great teachers who shared their own classroom experiences. We need your help to keep the webinar collection growing! Do you have a topic or activity that you are passionate about that you would like to share with the community? Please send it along for consideration.
